This is the day of our traditional Karneval party in Bristol, but due to the pandemic, all such celebrations have been cancelled in Germany, which according to Westdeutscher Rundfunk will cost the city of Cologne/Koeln 1.5 Billion Euros.   Below a pic of happier times:

German politics after the election

Dr Mark Allinson and Dr Christophe Fricker will give us an insight into the changes likely to take place in the post-Merkel government under the new Chancellor, Olaf Scholz. The SPD, FDP and Greens have never worked together in government before and it will be interesting to see how their individual priorities are handled in this new constellation.
