** Surprisingly perhaps, in recent months we have managed to have three face to face convivial gatherings: firstly we had a Reunion Dinner in July 2021 in the very pleasant outdoor terrace surroundings of the recently refurbished Eastfield Inn, Henleaze.
Unfortunately some members, including the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress, had to cancel due to Covid issues, but still there was a good number of us who were delighted to get together again after a gap of 18 months.
We returned to the Eastfield again in November for a lively dinner and skittles evening – about 15 of us enjoyed a very pleasant meal, this time in the conservatory and then had a competition in the newly reopened skittle alley. We hope this will become a regular event.
In December, after having to cancel our most popular event last year, we were thrilled this year to be able to enjoy our traditional German Christmas Market lunch of Wurst, Kartoffelsalat, Sauerkraut and Glühwein – again about 20 people came, including the Deputy Lord Mayor and his consort.
