Dear friends,
in these bad days it is not possible to meet friends, but memories can’t be stopped by any troubles.
I send you photos of things which remind me every day of my wonderful times in Bristol.
For those who don’t know me, I am the cyclist from Hannover who visited Bristol four times by bicycle (1987, 1997, 2003 and 2007).
At first you see my yellow shirt from 1997, I wear it still today when I make little cycling trips near Hannover. This bottle of beer I transported on my first trip to Bristol and another bottle I shared with Lord Mayor Marmeduke Elderson when I reached the Bristol Council House.
Whenever I need a tool to repair something I have a look to this sticker from “Bristol tools”.
In 2007 Royston Griffey gave me this bottle of the delicious “Bristol Cream Sherry”.
In 2017 I had the great pleasure to meet Royston once again in Hannover during the visit of the Bristolians when we celebrated “70 years friendship”.
The last photos shows a poster of Bristol on my cellar door. I hope you have fun with the photos and my memories and you can imagine why I very often think on Bristol. If someone will give me a feedback of my memories, you can send me a mail: hajo.grunze@psychoborg.org.
All the best for you with best wishes from Hannover
Hans, the “Cyclist”
