On 9th and 10th June, the Oberbürgermeister of Hannover, Herr Stephan Weil visited Bristol with a large delegation as part of Bristol City Council’s Green Week. The delegation was divided into two groups: the business group discussed future business possibilities with companies from Bristol, and the Oberbürgermeister’s group had a number of meetings to discuss energy efficiency and sustainability, as well as cultural issues, with a sneak preview of the new ‘M’ Shed Museum of Bristol.
Herr Weil is a great fan of the Hannover 96 football team, and so he was very enthusiastic about the visit arranged for him at Bristol City Football Club, where he heard about the planned new stadium. The Chair of Bristol-Hannover Council attended as BHC is hoping to be instrumental in setting up a fixture, initially at academy level, between the two clubs.
