Rosie McLay and Sledone, two of Bristol’s top young urban artists were chosen by UPFest and Hannover’s Kulturamt to take part in Hannover’s Urban Nature Festival last weekend. The artists were funded by Hannover City Council and spent several days in the city creating huge murals and then visiting some of the city’s well known urban art districts such as Linden and Nordstadt by bike. They were able to network with other artists from Poznan, Hannover’s Polish twin city and local artists from the scene. They also took part in a public talk with the artist ESKAER from Poznan and Tobi...

The People of Note Community choir (PON) enjoyed a very memorable visit from the amazingly talented Hannover choir Canta Nova. The People of Note International Touring Association (PONITA) are the social/event organising arm of the main community choir and we have taken enormous pleasure in organising and making this weekend possible.
The visit has brought together two cities and two performances of exceptional quality and diversity-some welcome bonuses have been the creation of significant international friendships, and the cementing of community ties, both within and across, the two choirs.

Funded by the EU Erasmus scheme the 19 young people and four youth workers spent three days in workshops in a school in Hannover looking at different elements of the democratic process in Hannover. They also enjoyed visiting the city using the trams and came away with an excellent impression of our twin city. The Hannover group will be in Bristol in October for a conference and a busy social programme as well as meeting some of our councillors...

We had a wonderful few days this summer with 15 of our Hannoverian friends, with a very intensive programme of visits, which our visitors seemed to thoroughly enjoy! As part of the week-long 45th Hannover-Bristol Dental School Exchange, Chair Ann Kennard gave an illustrated presentation showing the history of the overall city partnership, in the context of the 71 years of Bristol-Hannover Council. The students of the Medizinische Hochschule in Hannover were involved in very practical experience at Bristol’s Dental School, learning about dentistry and how it is taught at Bristol, "having a go at things" hands-on (we will avoid the gory details!), learning clinical skills, as well as observing clinical practice in different settings. In addition students learned...
